I hate my school.
This is how a lot of college will be like. Classes you only plan to take for a couple months can add up, especially if you find yourself in a literature -intensive course that requires multiple purchases. Often these books can be at least 40 dollars or more. What you must, and i mean must do is buy used. Some schools have services that resell books but even these are rarely marked down much and usually the University makes a profit, and no one wants that. Use book searches, such as collegebooksdirect, or even amazon to find cheap, slightly used books from people who know that the only way they’ll get this book off their hands to to offer it at prices students can afford. I’ve gotten $70+ books for less than 5. I even got one book for $1, before shipping, which is usually fair. It’s definitely the best way to save your sanity and your checkbook. And you’re gonna need all that extra cash for binge drinking anyway. Let’s not forget why we go to college in the first place, and higher learning it ain’t.
First off you link doesn’t work but thank you for the advice, I appercaite it. I will be looking into use books, my school does offer them. Second I am there for higher learning, I want to be a writer and my writing sucks right now, but drinking isn’t such a bad idea. :)
I found chegg.com over the summer that actually rents textbooks so you don’t have to buy them, but I also use amazon. My books this semester would have been almost $600, but between chegg and amazon I spent about half that. Plus when you sell your books back to the school they give you absolutely nothing and then sell them used to students for 3x as much. Yet the school swears they don’t make a profit this way. Ridiculous!
